Details:
I could not see this naked eye but photographically there were both Red Aurora Pillars and a persistent SAR arc. Forest Fire Smoke greatly hampered the view. It started around 9:00 UT on SEPT. 27, 2024 and lasted until twilight when the blues of twilight, reds of the SAR arc, forest fire smoke, and high clouds from hurricane Francine all vied for attention. See YouTube video link for a timelapse of the aurora.
