Details:
Just as Peter Lowenstein in Zimbabwe has reported, volcanic aerosols are still lingering in southern hemisphere skies, producing sporadic colourful twilights such as the one I photographed last Sunday evening. It is certainly feasible that aerosols from the eruption of Hunga Tonga two years ago are still present in the stratosphere, however, there has also been recent volcanic activity in Indonesia. Perhaps this is nature's way of making up for the fact that during the historic super solar storm two weeks ago (when auroras were visible from the tropics), it rained heavily in Pottsville for several days!
