Details:
This 60x10s (3s gaps) contact print occurred during the maximum intensity of the G5, Kp9 northern lights storm (11 May) shows the corona formation converging over the magnetic pole. This was only 12 minutes during a nearly 90 minute display. Of all the types that the aurora can form, the corona is my favorite. It is unusually very ephemeral and is therefore rarely seen.
