Details:
A race to find clear skies led to a farm field outside Port Burwell, Ontario just after first contact. I had time to set up my evScope as a tracker with a DSLR strapped to it capturing images at intervals calculated with a solar eclipse timer app. It slowly got darker and colder. The light didn't redden, it just began to dim. There were some very light cirrus clouds in the way but they didn't interfere much. Totality felt otherworldly. My kids thought it looked like we were on an alien planet. We observed stars in the sky and the planet Venus. We heard crickets. You could see dim light on the horizon in all directions. People were emotional. The corona looked so delicate with the naked eye. It was incredible.
