Details:
I was just finishing up imaging the sun in h-alpha today (a rare occurrence in winter), and I slewed the scope back to sunspot AR3184 just for the heck of it before shutting down. Holy cow, there was a big X1.9 flare! It is listed as happening at 18:50 UT, and my image is just a few minutes later at 18:55 UT. What luck. Normally, I don't take a final look at spots and prominences before shutting down, and normally I image earlier in the day (cloudcover prevented that). It worked out this time! 127mm f/9.4 refractor, Daystar Quark Chromosphere filter, ASI174mm camera.
