Details:
The Geminid meteor shower was in full flow overnight here in Europe and despite heavy clouds here in my part of the UK I was easily able to detect the display using my radio detection setup. Using a 3 element Yaggi aerial pointing towards the GRAVES transmitter in France, a simple USB software defined radio device connected to my PC and some logging software (Spectrum Lab) I was able to detect, count and calculate an hourly rate for the Geminids by their ability to forward scatter the radio signal normally obscured by my horizon.
