The photo is not a particularly pretty one but it shows that this year's noctilucent clouds season is shaping up to be a very good one. I've been observing NLCs for 15 years and I've never seen them from my latitude of 50° N so early. In fact, this is the first time I saw them in May, less than a week after the AIM satellite showed the first signs of noctilucent clouds forming around the north pole. This is going to be a very exciting season!
