Details:
I woke up early to photograph Comet NEOWISE from the hills west of the San Francisco Bay Area. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ISS would be making a pass near the comet just before dawn at about 4:35 AM. I've been following the spectacular photos of the comet taken by the astronauts aboard the ISS, so it was fun to have the ISS photobomb my comet photos! The comet itself was a little tricky to see with the naked eye at first, but as it rose higher in the sky it became obvious even with the bright city lights below.
This is a stack of 19 images to create the long streak of the ISS in the sky. Each sub-exposure, including the background, was 5 seconds at f/4.5. Pentax 645Z, 80-160mm f/4.5@100mm, ISO 1600.
