Details:
Just before 7:30pm local time last night, the sky over southern New Zealand exploded into life in a wonderful Auroral display. I was alone in Papanui Inlet on the Otago Peninsula and couldn't stop yelling with joy at the heavenly spectacle. It was great to see the blue/purple beams caused by sunlight at the top of the display.
