Details:
An almost full moon rises behind Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona.
The day before the full moon often presents wonderful opportunities for capturing the moon behind the sunset-lit iconic rocks. The exact location for shooting was determined from The Photographers Ephemeris. There were about a half-dozen other "moon chasers" there to capture this scene. And because the location was in Red Rock Crossing/Crescent Moon Picnic area, there were many others who simply marveled at the sight of the moon rising between the spires.
The second image was taken the night before (i.e., two nights before the full moon) and includes Oak Creek.
