Details:
The photo was taken with a cell phone from a moving car 60 km east of Rio de Janeiro at 11:00 (UTC-2h). It shows a prominent circumhorizontal arc that includes all colors of the rainbow. Amazingly, the unique cirrus formation also exhibited a saw-like lower structure which resembled equidistant virgae. The repetitive structure also reminded me of an inverted Kelvin-Helmholtz instability. What a lovely and rare treat it was!
