This was just the beginning of a fantastic Northern Lights display that happened last night above Lofoten. It was so beautiful that for most of the time I just looked at it. It's not always about taking photos of the night sky; it's more about enjoying and feeling.
To the left you can see the Milky Way and the Summer Triangle, one of the most famous asterisms in the Northern hemisphere. Deneb, the brightest star in the constellation of Cygnus, the Swan, is the upper vertex of the triangle. The other two vertices are Vega, to the right, the brightest star in Lyra and Alrair, just above the mountain, the brightest one in Aquila, the Eagle.
The mountain to the right is Olstind.
