Details:
Just outside Banner Elk, in a wide-open, frozen ground field at around 4400’ - the 6:30am glimpse of this Winter’s pre-dawn planetary alignment arched nicely overhead. Mercury, nearly awash in the first light of day was the last to join; Venus, Saturn, Mars & Jupiter, with a third quarter Moon and bright star Spica joining the stellar limbo line. This image is a stitch of 7 wide angle photos, each were 5-10 second exposures with the camera’s ISO at 400, covering nearly 180º of the sky.
