Details:
Unfortunately most of eastern Canada and the northeast US were clouded over for the Kp-6 event on New Year's Eve. These two images were taken through brief sucker holes, and hint that this would have been a very nice display, if the sky had been clear. The auroral intensity was easily bright enough to illuminate the clouds near the horizon! (There are no towns or villages in those directions)

Images were taken with a Canon 60Da and 16mm F2 lens. They are 10-second exposures at ISO6400.
