Details:
Some very cold air arrived last night, with thin high clouds. Unusal to see the rainbow colours as it passed over the moon around 8pm

Its a lunar diffraction corona and not an ice crystal refraction halo.

Thanks Peter, it was visible with the naked eye, not a photographic effect, do you know what causes this?
