Comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy and the tiny spiral galaxy UGC 2936 (Mag 14.8). 9 January 2015. 12 subframes 45 sec each, captured between 20:00 and 20:30 h UT in Tenerife, 1200 m alt. FOV: ca 2° x 1.5°, You can see some details in the DE (disconnection event) part of the tail and also the newly formed, very faint second tail (touching the tine spiral galaxy), perpendicular to the up to now spectacular tail . Sony A7s (modded, uncooled) at Hyperstar/Celestron 14", EQ8 mount, ISO 1600, calibrated (flat, superbias, dark), Dynamic and automatic background extraction, MaskedStretch, LocalHistogramEqualization, Crop, CurvesTransformation, MultiscaleLinearTransform in PixInsight 1.8
