Details:
Messier and Messier A, located in Mare Fecunditatis, form a unique "comet-tail" ray system caused by a very low-angle impact from the east. The twin craters are joined by a "butterfly" ejecta pattern that extends north/south. This image has been taken on March 24 2026.The rays are high-reflectance, making them stand out against the darker maria. They are most visible under high sun angles.
