Details:
Following the ‘Magnificent Volcanic Sunset’ on Friday 27th of March, both a Volcanic Sunrise AND Sunset occurred the same day on Saturday 28th March. The last time this happened (in response to an incursion of stratospheric volcanic aerosols) was on Thursday 24th of March 2022! (details at http://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=183195 I am not certain if the timing is just a coincidence or if there is a seasonal factor at play! In any event it is amazing that there should still be a sufficient quantity of volcanic aerosols from the January 2022 eruption of the Hunga-Tonga volcano in the stratosphere to produce both a volcanic sunrise and sunset over Mutare on the same day in March 2026. Seeing is believing so here is a record of what happened on Saturday! Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode.
