Details:
On the night of July 17/18 Edmonton NLC-chaser Mike Noble caught some NLC in evening twilight, and then again in morning twilight. I managed to catch the morning part of the display. I first noticed the NLC at 0200 local time with the Sun way down at 15.2 degrees below the horizon; hence, the NLC were only a couple of degrees up. By 0300 the display had brightened considerably. The yellow foreground in the first picture is a canola field! Sony A65, ISO 800.
