Details:
Nice that the Sunspots have returned providing some activity on the Sun's surface. This image was acquired with a Questar telescope and a Nikon D700 converted for 830 nm infrared. This is a single exposure in RAW processed with Photoshop. The IR image is grayscale but the purple color seems to work to provide visual contrast.

You should switch to 706nm. you will get much better results. You need an extremely narrow band filter centered at 854.2nm to get notable results from the calcium line.
