Details:
NLC from Brentford, west London, around 02:00 UT on the morning of July 4. I had looked after sunset, as on the previous few nights, but saw nothing. This time I was still up before dawn and saw this — not particularly bright, but the first NLC of the 2016 season for me. The best NLC I have seen from Brentford have usually been in the dawn sky, presumably because the upper atmosphere is colder by then. The tower at right of centre is at the Great West Quarter next to the M4. In the third shot, the top of the Wembley Stadium Arch can be seen low to its right in the distance. Exposures 1/4 and 1/8 second, f/1.8, 3200 ISO, Sony RX-100 II.
