Details:
The Sun looked very interesting today with these very long and dark filaments snaking across the surface, there was one not that far away from sunspot AR2121 that is now right in the middle of the Sun.
There was also a very interesting spiral shaped filament surrounding one of the bright new sunspots on the eastern limb (to the right of image) The solar limb was active again too, with two sets of active prominences on the eastern limb…so it looks like the Sun is starting to rev up again, perhaps solar max has not stopped after all….
The black and white image is a composite of two images, one for the surface and one for the prominences. There were 20 images for each photo that were stacked in RegiStax6 and combined in PS. Taken with a Canon 7D and 80mm Lunt solar telescope.
The white light image was taken with a Canon 7D and 100-400mm @400 with a 2x converter with a solar filter attached, exposure was 1/750th second and ISO 320.
