Details:
The noctilucent displays have been especially spectacular across northern Russia this July. These photos taken from an Airbus 320 about 1am local time slowly faded behind banks of lower cloud as we came in to land. The exposure of 1/2s had to be long through the window seat of the aircraft but trying to avoid blurring. The flight began with a "super moon". Last photo was taken 10 days before on a moving train some 200kms from St Petersburg Russia. White nights, a fascinating time!
