Now is a great time for beginners to start observing solar activity. All these photos were taken for under $50. The Galileoscope is about $30 (www.galileoscope.org), the SolarScope about $50 (http://www.solarscope.com/us/index.us.html), and the 1.5" Baader solar filter used for the Galileoscope for $4 (http://www.dracoproductions.net/Baader.htm). My Pensacola State College students all saw spots 2108 and 2109 as separate with naked eye solar viewers, but no one could resolve 2110 as separate from 2108 naked eye. Check out your own eyesight! In the last photo, EAAA member Dewey Barker is using the Galileoscope and PST for solar viewing at Pensacola Beach Pavilion Gaze on July 4th, with over 300 viewers.
