16:21UT 16/06/14 PST 40 / 8mm eyepiece / 50X /Coloured pencils on paper. I was showing the sun and its features to my after school boys astronomy class. The group are known as CroKidz. ! Matthew Collins aged 10 said he would like to try a sketch. It was only his second time to view the sun in a PST. This was his first try at drawing what he observed. Matthew put in a big effort, and achieved this lovely drawing which includes sunspots , plage and proms. He agreed that drawing the sun is very difficult. Well done !

Well done indeed Matthew & Deirdre. When sketching at the eyepiece it is very challenging to get the size of prominences in correct proportion to the solar disk. Matthew has achieved this and made an accurate drawing. Do more!!!
