What a magnificent view of the Sun there was today, all around the solar limb the surface was exploding with so much activity…it was just stunning! My first view was of a huge mass of plasma streaming away from the Sun…just floating off into space. I had to over expose many of my images to try and capture it and the many prominences all around the edges…it was just stunning! I’m only new to taking images through this new Lunt 80mm solar telescope and the real naked eye view through the eyepiece is just so detailed and amazing and I’m now well and truly hooked on solar observing. I don’t know how to process these types of images yet, but please find a couple of pictures that I’ve taken today on the 15th June 2014. Photo 1. Taken with a Canon 7D and 2x Barlow and Lund 80mm solar telescope, exposure ¼ second and ISO 320. Photo 2. Taken with a Canon 7D and 2x Barlow and Lund 80mm solar telescope, exposure 1/120th second and ISO 160. Photo 3. Taken with a Canon 7D and 100-400mm lens with 2x converter @400 and solar filter attached on a tripod. Exposure 1/750th second, ISO 320.
