I was photographing at the time I knew the Space Station would be making an appearance... but I didn't know I had the camera in the right direction. It came from the SSW and went right over Yosemite's Half Dome on the night of June 1, just after 10pm. A sliver of a moon lit up the valley and brightened the sky a bit.

hi G Taylor. That is a beautiful photo. It looks like you are at Glacier Point, given the vista and moonlight shadows (Ive been at that very spot for star parties many times). The caption on the Spaceweather.com home page says that you saw the ISS rising above Half Dome but as you point out it emerged in the SSW and given the perspective on your photograph, the ISS actually would have been *setting* over Half Dome, yes? When I read the caption I had to stop and think about that for a while, and figured someone overdramatized a bit. Just want to be sure I got the perspective correct.
