Details:
Attached is an image from last night, this comet is now especially photogenic as it travels inward to a close approach in August. Now at 8th magnitude in Ursa Major, it is slowly moving westward and soon will be lost in the trees to the west of my observatory in Payson. So I went real deep to see what I could capture - and the number of rays in the ion tail was most unexpected! Attached: one full res file Photo Data: 12.5" f/5 Newtonian AP1200 mount ST10xme CCD Exposure total 1h 18 mins LRGB Date 5/29/14
