11:14 pm MDT. Through the clouds. 30 second exposure, 14 mm wide angle, f/2.8, ISO 3200, Nikon D600. Only one every 10 minutes, at the moment

Its definitely a meteor but unfortunately not a May Camelopardalid. The reason for this is that the trail is travelling at right angles to the two stars at the end of the handle of the Big Dipper/Plough. The May Camelopardalid radiant is roughly in line with these two stars (Alkaid & Mizar). The meteor photographed is travelling at right angles to the direction it would need to be moving in order to belong to the May Camelopardalid shower.

I looked at the uncropped photo....yes, indeed, although in the handle region of the Big Dipper....the angle is wrong. It was however a nice meteor (much better by eye, than in the photo).
