Currently the brightest comet at near 8th mag. is C/2012 K1 PanStarrs in Ursa Major . Here is image from 2014/05/18 UT 03:10 taken with C8 f6.3 (1260mm), Canon T1i, Stack of 7x60s, iso 6400, negative when it was near chi UMa, TheSkyXPro chart shows the 1d field with galaxy NGC3877 nearby. Also 300mm f5.6, iso 6400, 60s single color wider field shot.
