Cosmic Trifecta - Aurora, Meteor and Milky Way - Arthur, Ontario 08/05/2014 This was taken during around 3:40am this morning with kp4 and gw40. I was testing my exposures to best capture the milky way and aurora when this perfectly timed meteor decided to show. I thought it might have been a satellite flare but there is no evidence of a satellite in any of my exposures before and after. From the transit of this one, I think it was possibly a rogue Aquarid as I saw a 4 during my time all radiate from this constellation. The really neat thing about this show was the color it was showing l The reddish purple was a new color for me and was visible to the naked eye (although as a whitish glow). Towards the end of the show you saw pillars radiating up into this region. Very interesting night considering the cme was suppose to hit us last night and was not expecting it.
