Details:
The International Space Station made a flyover this evening and passed within 1/2 degree of Mars and close to Spica moments later. The first image is a composite over the period 2003-2005 MST showing the ISS "threading the needle" between Mars and Spica and then disappearing into the Earth's shadow. The second image is a single frame that clearly shows another space craft/object leading the ISS by a few seconds.
