Details:
I went out last night in the hopes of possibly getting some photos of the aurora if the Kp level reached a high enough level. I have captured some aurora shots in Southeast Michigan with the Kp at or near 4 or 5 which by most accounts should not happen. So last night I went to a location just west of Ann Arbor, Michigan known as the Chelsea State Game Area on Four Mile Lake. The attached photo was taken ca. 9:30 PM (exif file reads ca. 8:30 I forgot to spring forward an hour) which was an hour or more after sunset the Kp level was ca. Kp 3.33 to 3.67 I believe. This image was taken looking north/northwest from the public access on the south end of the lake. The faint blues, turquoise and violet colors lasted until after 10:00 PM when my mobile app indicated the aurora level had dropped to a Kp 1. The low clouds were reflecting light pollution from the towns of Stockbridge to the left and Pinckney to the right both are about 20 miles away from the camera's location. Did I capture the aurora in this and my other photos last night?
