Details:
For us in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia, the event began at mid-eclipse right on Moonrise at 5:40 PM local time. Earlier in the day it looked like we might miss it entirely owing to the severe cloud cover. But luckily the skies cleared around sunset to allow us a glimpse of the eclipse. I had positioned myself to the West of the Dish, in the neighbouring farm, to try and get a shot of the rising, eclipsed Moon looming over the Dish. But it wasn't to be. A bank of cloud remained low on the Eastern horizon obscuring the rising of the Moon. It wasn't until around twenty minutes later at about 6:00 PM that the Moon finally peeked from behind the low cloud. It was well within the umbra with a rosy hue and by then it was well above the horizon. I had missed my photo opportunity. Nonetheless, the thin cloud gave the scene an eerie look which was nice. The photos were taken with a Canon 400D and a 70-300mm zoom lens at various focal lengths, f-stops and exposures.

Great shot, especially #2.
Is this the big dish from the movie The Dish?
