Details:
With Mars at its closest and brightest, this is a good time to look for its faint moons. This photo shows Deimos, the tiny outer moon (almost a million times fainter than the planet). Phobos, twice as bright but much closer to the planet, is completely lost in glare. 6x10s luminance + 5x10s RGB, 10-inch F8 R-C, ST2000XM, Baader filters. ID'd using Guide 9.0. Much work in Pixinsight to extract one of the hurtling moons of Barsoom.
