Details:
I could never tire of seeing the northern lights! This night they were just such lovely shades of purple! I planned to photograph by the Kálfshamarsvík lighthouse, but by the time I drove through the deep snowbank on the way to lighthouse and almost got stuck, and then slid my way out across the seaweed rocks to this tide pool, kept worrying about being washed off the rocks in the dark by a wave, and then the sea fog bank came in overhead, I was only able to capture this one image of the auroras over the lighthouse, but I was very blessed with this one, as most of the rest of Iceland was overcast skies. Then, I raced over a nearby mountain pass over the Skagi peninsula to get out of the sea fog, and the 2nd image is what I witnessed, for only about 10 minutes before overcast clouds filled the sky for the rest of the night! This might be the last aurora of the season, I'm so sad! Night isn't starting till 10pm now!
