Details:
I went out to my radio-room/shop building to do some radio "Dxing" and was very surprised and delighted to see these series of circumlunar bows around the near-full moon. I am not quite certain what actualy this phenomenon is called, but this was much more rare than the usual 42 degree bow usually seen. There was a "Sierra Wave" cloud east (in the lee) of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Olympus D-425 pocket camera on night-scene-mode and about 5 second exposure. Nothing fancy! Stephen P. McGreevy - N6NKS
