25 years on, thought I would share these images from the great aurora on the 13th March 1989. This was an incredible display, probably the brightest I've ever seen. At one point the display was overhead and to the south of Edinburgh, often wonder what was seen at the higher latitudes that night ?. Unfortunately I didn't have a tripod that night, so had to make do with a fence post. Taken around 2140 UTC using an Olympus OM 20, 50mm lens, f1.8, 15 second exposure. Copied from 400 ASA slides.
