Details:
A Fujifilm Finepix S8200 Bridge camera, set in B/W mode, was fitted with a Baader solar filter, set to ISO 100, f/6.5 at 1/1200s exposure and mounted on a Merlin, auto-tracking mount. The camera was set to its maximum of 40x zoom. Five sets of 10 images were captured in rapid succession in burst mode. The best 40 images were stacked in Registax 6 to produce the final image Which shows many sunspots on the disk as well as prominent, faculae.

Wow - thats from a fixed-zoom-lens compact camera with a tiny 1/2.3-inch sensor...but it looks as good as a DSLR long-telephoto shot! Modern Fuji lenses are amazingly good.
