Details:
I have been participating in a campaign to launch a 48 foot sounding rocket into an auroral arc. For weeks we've been sitting out all night every night, and though we've seen many good aurora, we haven't seen the type we want, in the position we want - until tonight. Preliminary expectations are that the launch is a total and complete success with lots of good science to come out of it. There's an official update blog from the launch team over here - http://greece.ssl.berkeley.edu/nightly-update/
