Details:
The orographic clouds are spreading on Mars above the big vulcanoes in the Tharsis Region. Olympus Mons is to the right of the center. There also seems to be a storm going on to the left of the North Polar Cap moving up high in the atmosphere resulting in a visible bulge on the terminator (indicated by the arrow). The animation is composed of 8 frames showing 1,5 h of Mars rotating, from 01h05 to 02h35 UT. Mars is 11 arcseconds in diameter and rises to a maximum of 22° above the horizon as observed from Stockholm. Telescope: Celestron EdgeHD 8" Camera: DBK41AF02 4x Televue Powermate, f/40.
