A very rare display of Aurora
Taken by Alexander Ian Keen on February 27, 2014 @
Tonight, for the first time in my four year long career of chasing the lights, I witnessed something new.
I've coined the phrase "Tricky Lady" for use when describing to northern lights due to her elusive, 'Tricky' and seductive nature. I say it is as though the most beautiful woman in the world is dancing a salsa right above us and, tonight, her dress was almost entirely crimson red.
I have never seen red quite so vivid in the Aurora; not with my naked eye, at least.
I consider myself incredibly lucky to have witnessed such a rare, spellbinding display and only took around four photos before I simply had to turn the camera off and watch what was unfolding before my eyes.
