Details:
I’ve always wanted to see this special atmospheric phenomenon when flying and could not believe my eyes when on a flight from Sydney to Brisbane I looked out of my window and saw this beautiful coloured ring around the shadow of the plane. I do know that you have to be seated a few seats behind the wing and the Sun has to be on the other side of the plane, you also have to have some cloud or mist for it to be visible… all these things come together beautifully on this flight and finally I managed to capture my own Glory from the air :-) If you would like to know more about how they form, please go to Les Cowley’s atmospheric home page at: http://www.atoptics.co.uk/droplets/glory.htm Photo taken with a Canon G15 on automatic through the plane window.
