Details:
Hello friends, The clouds have once again shown me mercy and I was able to image the Sun once again, Sunspot AR 1974 is showing incredible activity and seems to be organizing its energy. According to Spaceweather.com the Sunspot harbors a 60% chance for M-Class Solar flares and a 10% chance for X-Class Solar flares. Sky watchers in the Northern hemisphere should be on the lookout for aurora activity for the next couple of days. I made these images on the morning of February 13, 2014 at about 10:00 CDT in Jadwin, Missouri with a Home made 108mm Solar telescope that incorporates a Baader safety wedge using a solar continuum filter in conjunction with a ND 1.4 filter. The close up was using a 6mm Clave eyepiece for eyepiece projection (image inverted). The focal length of this instrument is 36 inches. As always I hope you like my images and it is my extreme pleasure to share them with you! Victor C. Rogus Jadwin, MO
