20 miles N. of Fairbanks at the Aurora Borealis Lodge. Note: Fairbanks is in a valley and is often covered with clouds while the hills N. of town and 2,000 ft. higher are often clear.

Details:
Very bright auroras with occasional hints of red. Some sheets passed overhead at the peak. Not quite the "4" predicted, but a decent "3". Images made with an 11mm lens at f3.5. 6400 ASA. Nikon 300D. Exposures 2sec.
