Imaged this monster sunspot AR1944 on 9th Jan ’14. Even at low magnification loads of detail could be seen. Easily the most magnificent sunspot I’ve ever seen!
Equipment – Orion 6” Newt, Baader 2.5” off-axis filter, EQ3, Canon 600D, 2x barlow,
Stacked 20% best frames from approx. 900, final editing in gimp
