I apologize if this does not work- was just trying something out. . . . This is a GIF of M82 before the supernova on April 12th, 2013. The second image in the GIF is M82 on January 23rd, 2014, showing the currently 11th magnitude supernova in the galaxy. The supernova is definitely visible and obvious in the galaxy, so it's a seemingly nice target for amateur telescopes. Stone Edge Observatory Telescope CCD camera, 180s exposures + 60s exposures, iprime, gprime, rprime filters.
