Winter Sun 20 January 2014. A classic winter day in the life of our Sun as it rises, culminates and sets over a short 7 hr period (0900-1600hrs). Captured with Olympus E5 & 7-14mm lens.
How did I capture this? - I set up camera on tripod and calculated where the Sun would rise and set in respect of my composition. I took a few sample shots to expose both foreground and sky. Using a time lapse controller (set to snap away every 30s) I commenced at 0900hrs through tip 1600hrs - The images depict approx 1000hrs to 1500hrs. To engage the starburst effect I set the aperture to a high F22, ISO 200 and let the camera run all day. Once complete I imported all images into MAC and brought together all of the Suns, separated by 20min interval, within StarStax software. Once the composite was complete I merged another image showing the correctly exposed frozen foreground.
