Details:
On the bottom right is how the photo should look like but as you can see I also captured a mirror image of the Moon that looks better than the real image just below it. It looks to be the same size exact size only in reverse. How did this happen?

did you have a filter on your lens?

Was the moon near the horizon? With my naked eyes I saw a similar reflection in August of 1971 of the suns reflection off the ionosphere a few degrees above the horizon, and north of the point of sunset, approximately two hours after sunset. I was stunned. Almost a religious experience.

But still quite a nifty shot...

I dont have any filters for this camera but I might have used my polarized sunglasses to reduce the glare. This was back in July so maybe I just forgot. Thanx for your help.

Did you see this in the sky with your naked eye? No eye-wear/glasses? Or did this come up only on the captured image file? My daughter said she saw something similar, but the 2 moons were slightly overlapping. She did not call me and have me look at at. She took a photo with her phone - yeah, her phone - but swears her photo is exactly what appeared in the sky. Very much like this, but moon images closer together. I can email the low-res photo if you like.

Dougr855....It turns out that I might have used polarized sunglasses in front of the lens to reduce the glare which will definitely explain why I got that reflection. Thanx.
