Details:
Pearing through 132 km of sky to the sun pancaking into the ocean, looking WSW from 2,700m altitude in the central Chilean Andes. I am puzzled by the multiple layers in the atmosphere. The redness is due to various forest fires in the Maipo valley and area. Included also is a winter dawn view (from the same location and direction), with the effect of what I assume is the shadow of the 6,600m Volcan Tupungato to the east. Why the rainbow colours?
